Climate Code Red: The Case for Emergency Action
An evening with author David Spratt6 for 6:30pm Thursday 14 August Bella Union Bar Trades Hall Cnr Victoria & Lygon Sts, Carlton At the recent launch of Climate Code Red, Victorian Governor David de Kretser read out a quotation from George Monbiot which features in the book: “When you warn people about the dangers of climate change, they call you a saint. When you explain what needs to be done to stop it, they call you a communist …everyone is watching and waiting for everyone else to move.” David Spratt and Philip Sutton’s book clearly demonstrates that global climate change requires radical action – by government and by all of us – to avoid complete environmental meltdown. So what is the next step? The New International Bookshop invites all unions, activist groups, community sector organizations and concerned individuals to this important discussion of the way forward on climate change.
