The Activist's Toolkit - a practical weekend series for community activists

Communication Know How
Saturday 7 October 9:30 am to 4:30 pm
  • Learn to speak confidently and effectively in public;
  • manage high pressure interactions with decision-makers;
  • create presentations that educate, persuade and inspire
Creative Campaigning
Saturday 21 October 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.
  • Spice up your campaigns using the arts and creativity
  • Collaborate with artists and performers
  • Organise campaign events that are out of the ordinary
Lobbying know how
Saturday 7th October 9:30 am to 4:30 pm
  • Have an impact on the policy making process
  • In the support of influential people
  • Sway the opinions of politicians and bureaucrats
Media Know How
Saturday 21 October 9:30 am to 4:30 pm
  • Develop an effective media campaign;
  • write a media release that grabs attention;
  • give a media interview that gets your message across
Venue:
RMIT City Campus
360 Swanston Street
Melbourne.

All venues are disability accessible. Full details and a campus map will be provided with confirmation of registration.

Cost:
$50 including GST for a package of 2 workshops for members of unfunded community groups; $110 including GST for a package of 2 workshkops for members of funded NGO's. Registration fee includes
learning materials and morning/ afternoon tea. Please note that lunch is not provided.

Registration:
Pre registration is essential. Places are strictly limited to 20 people per workshop, so register early! Closing date Monday 2 October.
