Victorian Trades Hall Council Resolution re Day of Action & All Unions Delegates Meeting - unanimously passed 4th August 2005

"That this VTHC Council meeting notes the reports from Greg Combet and Brian Boyd and supports the outlined program to lift and build the trade union and community campaign against the Howard Government's proposed Industrial Relations changes.

In particular, Council supports the preparation for the next proposed national day of workers and community action called for Tuesday, 25 October 2005.

Council calls on all VTHC affiliates, in particular, to support the proposed Victorian all union delegates mass meeting at Dallas Brooks Hall on Wednesday, 7 September 2005, as a key event to promote the national day of action and that there be a special VTHC Council meeting on Thursday 1st September 2005.

Council also supports a range of activities in the federal marginal seats aimed at highlighting the negative and anti-worker nature of the proposed industrial relations legislation.

Council calls on all VTHC affiliates to maximise their industrial and political efforts in the coming period as the legislation proceeds through the federal parliament".
