Unionists and community rally to defend rural post services



About 100 people rallied today (Friday 10 Oct) in Melbourne outside Australia Post headquarters in defence of rural post services. The rally including a healthly cross section of union movement, ALP members of parliment, rank and file workers, union secretaries, Labor Council secretaries, Sharan Borrows [ACTU] and community activists.

Australia post have been transferring rural mail sorting jobs to Melbourne resulting in a loss of jobs and quality of service.
