June 1 student strike for young workers' rights.

Students and young workers across the country will be taking action on June 1 against the Howard government's attacks on workers' rights. The "Work Choices" legislation is aimed at making it easier for bosses to rip off working people, and it's going to impact on young people especially harshly.

What "Work Choices" will mean for you:
  • Slash in pay rates
  • Sacked whenever the boss feels like it
  • More bullying and harassment at work
  • No weekend pay rates
  • Forced to negotiate with the boss without a union.
French students recently showed the way when they led the fight against their conservative government's attacks on young workers' rights and forced it to back down through ongoing mass protests. This victory show that if we put up a fight, we can win. Join the strike on June 1, and tell your friends and family about it.
